On 2nd July 2015, a closed session of the Polish-British Round Table – one of the most important events of the Polish-British dialogue, organised since 2008 at Villa Decius – is going to be inaugurated in Krakow. This year’s Round Table session is entitled: “The Defence of Europe: Poland and Britain in Testing Times”. On the 25th of June (Thursday), at 6:00 p.m., we would like to invite all the senior citizens interested in writing to special workshops organised as part of the Jewish Culture Festival by the Krakow Festival Office and the Villa Decius Association. Workshops entitled “Our little homelands” will be conducted by Katarzyna Kubisiowska. The number of places is limited! Free tickets may be picked up in the ticket office of the Jewish Culture Festival on ul. Jakuba, next to Cheder Cafe.
On the 26th of June 2015, the spring edition of the creative writing workshops organised as part of the SAGA project ended at Villa Decius. The participants – people aged over 55 – polished their literary skills under the supervision of Katarzyna Kubisiowska and Małgorzata Majewska for six weeks. Texts created during the workshops can be found at www.saga.villa.org.pl. Some of them will be included in a special publication, which comes out at the end of 2015. Yet another edition of the “SAGA – creativity workshops” project is coming in September. Highly recommended!

Everybody is welcome to submit their nomination applications to the 12th edition of the Polish Prize of Sérgio Vieira de Mello, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (2002-2003). Applications of candidates to the Prize will be accepted until June 30 this year. Registration takes place electronically – nomination applications are to be completed online on the website www.mello.villa.org.pl.

On the 17th of June (Wednesday), at 5:00 p.m., we would like to invite everyone to Villa Decius for a meeting with Magdalena Kicińska – reporter, author of an excellent piece of reportage dedicated to Stefania Wilczyńska – tutor and educator, who cooperated closely with Janusz Korczak, but is usually overlooked. The meeting will be conducted by Katarzyna Kubisiowska. The event takes place as part of the “SAGA – creativity workshops” project. Admission is free.
“Sundays at Decius” are family events organised annually by the Villa Decius Association in cooperation with the Council of District VII Zwierzyniec and the Centrum Helen Doron language school in Krakow. This year’s edition will take place on the 14th of June 2015 between 11:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m., and international dances will be its central theme.
