Adam Boniecki devoted to his most recent book entitled “Zakaz palenia.” The publication is a collection of editorials from “Tygodnik Powszechny” weekly and constitutes a continuation of the bestselling volume “Lepiej palić fajkę, niż czarownice” published in November 2011. The meeting “Tour de Pologne of Rev. Boniecki” will be hosted by Michał Olszewski. Admission free.
(POL) Rusza nowy literacki projekt Stowarzyszenia Willa Decjusza – „Tour de littérature”, którego celem jest promocja czytelnictwa. Jednym z komponentów projektu jest cykl 7 filmowych etiud pt. „Skazani na książki”. Od maja do listopada zaprezentujemy 7 filmowych etiud. Ich bohaterami będą stypendyści programów stypendialnych Stowarzyszenie Willa Decjusza, którzy opowiedzą o swoich książkowych doświadczeniach. Premiera pierwszego odcinak już wkrótce!
People above 50 are heartily welcome to take part in a competition for a literary text, whose theme is “My Poland.” Permitted forms of works include a short-story, a fairy-tale, a legend, a blog, a memoir (excerpt), a script, an essay, an interview, a reportage or a review. The maximum volume of the text is 8,000 characters. The works have to be sent via e-mail to the following address: ziemowit@villa.org.pl by June 3. Settlement of the competition and presentation of prizes will take place in June 2014.
The Villa Decius Association and the Foundation for Polish-German Cooperation invite German writers, translators of German literature into Polish, and translators of Polish literature into German to apply for residential scholarships at the Villa Decius in Krakow. The deadline for applications is 31 May 2014. The duration of the residency is 3 month (from September to November 2014). Applications are to be sent via e-mail directly to the below address, to the attention of Villa Decius’s project coordinator.
We are very happy to inform that until May 15th we have received 82 full applications and that 261 profiles of candidates were open by candidates who come from 14 countries. The process of recruitment will close on 1st June 2014 with announcement of the approved candidates. The list of participants will be published at www.vacum.eu.
On May 1st, the scholarship stays within the scope of the Visegrad Literary Residences 2014 programme started. Four scholarship holders came to Kraków to pursue their literary and artistic projects here. In the spring edition, Villa Decius hosts Alena Mornštajnova, Czech translator and writer, István Szathmáre, Hungarian journalist and book illustrator, Silvia Ruppeldtova, Slovakian scriptwriter, journalist, translator and archaeologist and Marcin Kalisz, Polish actor, director and script editor. The spring edition of the Visegrad Literary Residences programme will last until June 12.
