We have the pleasure to present the photo-report of the sixth edition of the Polish-British Round Table – the most important informal Polish-British forum in which leading politicians, diplomats, officials, intellectuals and representatives of business and the media from Poland and Great Britain discuss major topics of current interest as well as most important European and global problems.
The International Visegrad Fund has approved the Literary Residents for 2012. The Visegrad Literary Residency Program, established 2012 by the International Visegrad Fund, consists of a series of residency stays and literary events addressed to writers of fiction and non-fiction, poets, essayists, critics as well as literary translators, publicists and journalists from the Visegrad Countries (Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia).
On the eve of the third Czesław Milosz Literary Festival, the Biannual PEN International WiPC Conference & ICORN Network Meeting – the most important international institutions bringing together writers from all over the world and promoting human rights – will take place in Krakow. The conference will be held under a title Writing Freedom and will gather.
The opening of Elzbieta Lempp’s photo exhibition entitled Literary Portraits will take place in the Villa Decius on Wednesday, May 16, 2013 at 5.00 pm. The Literary portraits photographs depict mainly faces and private creative spaces of artists, especially writers, and were taken as black and white shots from 1987 to 2012. Some artworks are presented both as traditional photographs and multimedia presentation and give an overview to Polish and foreign literary scene.
A public debate will be held at Jagiellonian University – Collegium Maius Assembly Hall on 9 May 2013 at 6:00 pm with the participation of Lord Adair Turner – an outstanding British economist, former head of the Financial Services Authority (FSA) and member of the Financial Policy Committee. The meeting will be led by Krzysztof Bobiński. Previous online registration is required to attend the event .
Z wielkim smutkiem żegnamy Doreen Daume, naszą stypendystkę, wybitną tłumaczkę literatury polskiej na język niemiecki, która odeszła 2 maja 2013 roku, po trudnych zmaganiach z ciężką chorobą. Doreen Daume urodziła się w 1957 roku w Dortmundzie, studiowała w Konserwatorium Miasta Wiednia i na Wiedeńskim Uniwersytecie Muzycznym oraz w Instytucie Translatoryki. Tłumaczeniem literatury zajmowała się od 1999 roku. Były to przede wszystkim przekłady liryki (m. in. Czesław Miłosz, Ewa Lipska, Piotr Sommer, Andrzej Kopacki) oraz współczesnego dramatu (m.in. Michał Walczak, Marek Kochan, Amanita Muskaria).
Fundacji Współpracy Polsko-Niemieckiej oraz Stowarzyszenie Willa Decjusza wybrało tegorocznych stypendystów programu Stypendia Twórcze 2013. Otrzymaliśmy 42 aplikacje od pisarzy, 8 od tłumaczy m. in. z Berlina, Lipska, Bremy, Zurychu, Nowego Jorku, Krakowa, Halle, Wadowic, Opola. Komisja selekcyjna zadecydowała o przyznaniu pięciu trzymiesięcznych stypendiów w dwóch terminach: maj-lipiec i wrzesień-listopad. W ramach Stypendiów Twórczych 2013 do Willi Decjusza przyjadą: Kevin Kuhn, Christian Hussel, Mario Kaiser, Renate Aichinger oraz Hans-Peter Kunisch.
W związku z bardzo dużym zainteresowaniem tegoroczną edycją program Wyszehradzkich Rezydencji Literackich informujemy, że proces składania aplikacji zostaje przedłużony do 5 maja 2013 roku do godz. 24.00. Przypominamy, że projekt adresowany jest do pisarzy, poetów, eseistów, krytyków, tłumaczy literatury i dziennikarzy z krajów Grupy Wyszehradzkiej (Czechy, Polska, Słowacja i Węgry).
