“Write the Game V4” – on Monday the Visegrad Computer Game Scriptwriting Academy is starting in the Villa Decius

From 4th till 14th August a group of participants from Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia and Moldova will train their skills under the guidance of well-known experts from the gaming industry.

Inspirational lectures, workshops, Quest creation, mentoring classes, visits to gaming studios – all these are components of the Academy’s program in which the participants will take part. For the first time, the project is fully international. Already at the recruitment level, the 25 participants, who were chosen from nearly a hundred applicants, had to present their own ideas for elements of a game scenario.

Mentors and experts are also an international group of creators – recognized, awarded and popular in the global gaming industry. To Krakow will come i.e.:

Alexis Kennedy – co-founder of the Weather Factory studio known among others in connection with the popular and award-winning “Cultist Simulator” game (including BAFTA nominations). Before that he founded Failbetter Games, where he created Fallen London and Sunless Sea – both critical and commercial successes that have continued to influence the indie end of the industry;

Chris Bateman – creator of over 50 games (such as “Discworld Noir”, “The Persistence” – VR, “Shadows: Awakening”, “Tropico 6”), winner of many prizes and keynote speaker at industry conferences on several continents. Founder of Develop Award Nominee International Hobo Ltd and winner of the IGDA’s MVP Award for his work founding and running the organisation’s highly-successful Game Writers Special Interest Group;

Workshops during which the participants will create their own Quests will be led by experienced game developers, who worked i.e. on large and very popular games: Tomasz Marchewka, Błażej Augustynek, Karolina Kuzia-Rokosz, Jakub Rokosz and David František Wagner.

The inauguration of the Visegrad Computer Game Scriptwriting Academy will take place on 5th August 2019 at 10 a.m. in the Villa Decius.
