The debate entitled “Time for an exchange. Generational change in Poland” will take place on the 16th of December at 9:00 a.m. at the Faculty of Management and Social Communication of the Jagiellonian University. The participants include Wojciech Przybylski ‒ editor-in-chief of “Res Publica Nowa”, Professor Małgorzata Bogunia-Borowska ‒ sociologist, cultural expert, and media expert, and Danuta Glondys, PhD ‒ director of the Villa Decius Association.
Three important issues will be taken up during the debate on the young people’s place in society:
- A self-fulfilling prophecy. Are 20- and 30-year-olds less competent, because they are less experienced?
- Intergenerational solidarity. Will we be able to finance the growing expenditure on social security in the perspective of two decades?
- What are today’s 20-30-year-olds capable of? Emigration, co-option, the Third Way, rebellion?
