On 2nd July 2015, a closed session of the Polish-British Round Table – one of the most important events of the Polish-British dialogue, organised since 2008 at Villa Decius – is going to be inaugurated in Krakow.
This year’s Round Table session is entitled: “The Defence of Europe: Poland and Britain in Testing Times.” During the inauguration, Lord Robertson, the former Secretary General of NATO, and Prof. Krzysztof Szczerski, President-elect Andrzej Duda’s adviser, are going to present two perspectives – two points of view on the issue of European security.
The experts’ seminar held at Villa Decius has been divided into the following thematic blocks:
- A Threat to Europe: What Putin’s Russia has done and might do
- The Defence of Europe: Poland, Britain and NATO
- Can Europe generate growth, leadership and jobs?

The Polish-British Round Table is nowadays one of the most important events of the Polish-British dialogue at the highest level, organised since 2008 in the form of an annual meeting of several dozens of politicians, diplomats, officers, intellectuals, businessmen and representatives of the media from Poland and the UK, who at Villa Decius discuss the most important issues on the European agenda.
The idea of these meetings was born as a result of the collaboration of the Centre for European Reform, Chatham House, European Studies Centre St. Antony’s College of the University of Oxford, demosEUROPA Foundation – the Centre for European Strategy, Unia&Polska Foundation and the Villa Decius Association.
