Do you want to create original computer game scripts? Do you like both writing and computer games? Are you wondering how to plan the gameplay, create characters and dialogues, surprise and at the same time involve the players? Are you good with words and do you have a vivid imagination?
Apply for the Visegrad Computer Game Scriptwriting Academy!
Inspirational lectures, workshops in groups, Quest creation, mentoring classes, visits to gaming studios – all these are elements of the program in which the participants of the Academy will take part. For the first time the project is international – both mentors, partners and participants will represent several countries: the Czech Republic, Hungary, Moldova, Poland and Slovakia.
The Visegrad Computer Game Scriptwriting Academy will take place from 4th to 15th August 2019 in the inspiring Renaissance Villa Decius in Krakow. Participation in the project is free of charge, and the organizer provides both accommodation and meals. 25 people will be able to participate in the program.
Writers, scriptwriters, copywriters and all those who are interested in creating scenarios for computer games are invited to apply. Lectures, workshops and classes will be conducted by practitioners from leading gaming studios, creators and representatives of the creative industry.

How to take part?

To the application form you should attach:
- a Literary Text Sample – Quest description from an invented RPG game together with a fragment of dialogue between characters. The Quest description should contain a short introduction to the game’s universe (full freedom of choice of theme and genre within the RPG), a short presentation of the characters and an extensive sketch of the events. The chosen part of the dialogue has to be representative of the presented idea and should cover about 15-20 utterances together with the director’s commentary. The description of the quest together with the dialogues should contain up to 1000 words.
- a Letter of Motivation.
Eligible counties: Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Moldova.
Applications deadline extended until 30th of June at midnight!
A jury consisting of “Write the Game V4” experts will announce the decision concerning who is accepted for the Visegrad Computer Game Scriptwriting Academy until 7th July 2019 at www.villa.org.pl.
Update: the application results will be announced by Wednesday, the 10th of July.
All the lectures and workshops will be held in English.
